Horizontal range (displacement distance) calculator for oblique projectile motion
Projectile Horizontal Displacement Calculator
Displacement distance: R = V0 2sin2θ/g
V0 = Initial velocity
g = acceleration due to gravity
θ = Angle between velocity and horizontal plane
According to the principle of independence of motion, the oblique projectile motion can be regarded as the combined motion of uniform linear motion in the horizontal direction and vertical upward motion, or the combined motion of linear motion along the V0 direction and free fall motion.
The three elements of oblique projectile motion are range, altitude and flight time.
There are two types of oblique projectile motion: oblique upward projectile and oblique downward projectile. Generally, if not specified, we assume it is oblique upward projectile. Oblique projectile motion is uniform linear motion in the horizontal direction and vertical upward projectile motion in the vertical direction.
